November Sunset

A subdued winter sunset looking southwest from Homer. The setting sun is actually lighting up the underside of a high overcast layer. The snow of two weeks ago has melted but more will be along soon.

Thanks!

Since I spent so many years in Fairbanks, I am ready for winter about October 10th and have had a hard time adjusting to the milder winters here on the coast. Well--not that I miss the 40-below stuff. But there really is no point in living in Alaska if you don't like snow. We actually got a half-inch last night and expect more this evening,so perhaps we are on our way to a white Christmas.
